Signing up to show your work on UpstreamArt.com
1) Artist Information Form. This information lets us know the various ways to contact you, as well as your preference for the best ways and times to reach you. UpstreamArt will not give customers or other third parties your contact information but will communicate directly with you regarding any inquiries we can not answer.

2) Please email us your bio (or artist statement) to be posted on the website. Knowing your personal background helps customers feel they know something about you and your approach to art. We suggest that you update the information to reflect recent awards and honors. A portrait is recommended too.

3) Art Work Registration Form. Email one form for each original piece of art that you would like to show on UpstreamArt. We recommend you select six pieces to post on UpstreamArt.com for about six months. Please note that UpstreamArt, at their own discretion, reserves the right to refuse to post any art work on the website.

3) Things to consider in order to complete the Art Work Registration form for each art work you wish to offer for sale on UpstreamArt:

Digital Images
Digital Images of your work are uploaded by UpstreamArt from one of three ways:

  • E-mail digital graphic files to liza@upstreamArt.com in a bmp, eps, gif, jpg, pcx, psd, or tif format.
  • Mail a disk with digital images in one of the formats listed as digital graphic files above. (FYI, most photographic processing companies will transfer your slide film to digital images.) If you wish the disk to be returned, enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.
  • Arrange a digital camera session with UpstreamArt. Images can be previewed instantly in the digital camera. A fee may be charged for this service.

Be sure to label each image exactly as you have titled it on the Art Work Registration Form and also tell us the file extension type (i.e., jpeg, gif, etc.).

UpstreamArt adds a watermark to the images to guard against reproduction of your work.  While the images on this site belong to UpstreamArt, all original art belong to the artist and is protected by copyright laws.

Pricing Your Art Work
The artist determines the price he or she wishes to receive for the art. Please include the cost of packaging materials necessary to safely ship your work. UpstreamArt will add 30% to the amount you wish to receive as the commission for displaying your work. Note that the commission is deducted from art work sold through UpstreamArt.  There are no monthly fees.

Shipping, insurance and taxes are separate items determined according to the "ship to" address and then added to the amount for the customer to pay.  UpstreamArt will pay the shipping costs and assist customers with tracking.

Shipping Your Art Work

UpstreamArt has an account with the United States Postal Service for Express Mail to nearly 200 countries and territories. The weight must be 70 pounds or less and measure 108 inches or less in combined length and girth.  For additional questions or tracking information contact: USPS  www.usps.com (800/222-1811). We ask you to pack your art carefully to guard against shipping damage and take into account that customers may return the work in the same materials.

Please order the materials immediately after signing up with UpstreamArt so that you will be ready to package the artwork after an order is placed. Until we have on-line credit card payment available, you may have a couple of days to actual package your art while their check is being authorized.

Several sources of shipping materials are offered on-line or by telephone order.  UPS www.ups.com (800) 727-8100 take about 2-3 days to deliver the supplies. Alternately check with your local Mail Box or call U-Haul (1-800-468-4285).

Insuranced mail covers against loss or damage based on the "actual value, less depreciation" and "no claim may be made for sentimental losses or for any expenses inclurred as a result of the loss."

Payment Process
Customers submit their email orders but wait for the total amount due which include the shipping fees and taxes. UpstreamArt will notify you of the pending order, confirm the weight and dimensions of the package to be shipped and respond to the customer. Once the check is cleared by the bank, UpstreamArt will give you the shipping information and type “sold” next to your piece of art on UpstreamArt. Payment to you will be made approximately two weeks after the Return Policy time period has expired.

The return policy gives customers five-days from the date of delivery to notify UpstreamArt if they wish to return the piece for any reason. The customer is, however, responsible for all the shipping costs incurred both ways. The customer's reimbursement can not be refunded until you email UpstreamArt that you have received the returned art in good condition. Please check with care. We will retain the work on-line unless you request otherwise.

Commissioned Work
Please let us whether or not you will consider commissioned work and, if so, do you have specific terms. We anticipate customers may be interested.
